The Punk Syndrome

"The Punk Syndrome" shows us the Finnish punk-rock band Pertti Kurikka's, founded in 2009 by four disabled boys. The film follows the long journey of the band from the rehearsal room to cult success. It shows the love and hatred between the boys, weeping and laughing. Loyal to the true punk tradition, the band plays extremely loud and noisy, even when playing in a mall for three elderly. Their lyrics are critical of the surrounding world: poverty, housing problems, intoxicants and the attitude towards the disabled, all is shouted  sassy and loudly in the listeners face. Punk is not dead, just disabled!
